I was looking at the gear ratios for the jdm integra zxi. I forgot what they were, but i believe it was actually something like 4.09 FD. Then i started thinking, since the usdm teg which is a d-series (up to '90 anyway), has about 10 more horses than the a6 and it is DOHC; bolt that up with the ZXI tranny and that car will be pretty quick. Especially in a CRX . Unfortunately i heard those transmissions are rare, and i dont even know how it would bolt up to the USDM teg motor, or even what type of motor the JDM zxi is. I would post this in the integra section but i was wondering if this kind of swap has ever been done in a crx??
I'll keep researching but even the info is hard to find. Maybe I'm not looking in the right spots...

make sure that the tranny came from a D series, the only D series the teg had was the D16a1, if you can find the tranny and it will fit onto a D16a1, then also find a DOHC ZC (which the tranny probably comes from) because the a1 is just weak, if you can't because its a ZC and you may have problems with smog or what not, swap the zc head and internals into the a1, making basically a D16a1 stamped ZC.

Have you heard of the teg ZXI?
All ZC's where non VTEC, the only VTEC one was stamped D16A (instead of ZC) and was basically the same as a D16z6. Here is a link with some info on the ZXI: 1990 Honda Integra, ZXi Modification - specs, pics and parts!
The engine is a DOHC ZC, so you might as well see if you can get your hands on the full engine. The D16a1 is pretty crappy, I know someone who had a had stock NA SOHC ZC with I/H/E and made 115/110 on the dyno - nice numbers, so i wouldn't be surprised if with the right DOHC ZC u can pull 120whp stock and with that tranny it would definitely be fun.

the SOHC zc's im a little skeptical about, (don't they vary from year to year also) and like you said they are the same as the a6 (people think the cam profiles are different, but i dont know) My plan is rebuild a motor ,new cams, pistons, etc, so it would basically be the same as building an a6. The DOHC aftermarket support is not that great (from what i can find) so unfortunately i guess the ZC is not the way for me. I would like to fully rebuild a 3rd gen zc to support boost but oh well. i have the zc trans so ill make that a hybrid and bump my FD higher than the zxi. But a zxi hybrid...

The SOHC ZC's are not the same as the D16a6, they have similarities, but i am almost 100% sure that they have a more aggressive cam profile. How else does he make 115hp, and i think there are like 4 or so different DOHC ZC's but there is only 1 type that i know of SOHC ZC. Just go with what you are thinking, a 3rd gen ZC (do you homework to make sure you get what your looking for) The info is out there but its just harder to find, also its very similar to the D16a1, so most parts of that should work.
I decided to search for some ZC info, i deleted it but i had a bunch of bookmarks on ZC info with like what parts fit and just specs . . . anyway what i could find: Body HYBRID: ZC Data
^^^ this one has tons of good info, if i where you i would copy before the webpage disappears.
is in the info in Hybrid ZC data saying about the trans saying the ZC has an LSD?
"If you are doing the daily driver thing and want an LSD,
buy a ZC and leave it alone. The price with axles will be around
what you'd spend on a Quaife."
Otherwise good info

Yup, but not all, SOME, i not sure how many, came with LSD, There is a way to check if it has it or not, but i'm forgot how. Its hard to tell though, but if your lucky you could end up with a ZC tranny with LSD.

"A better choice of axle would be two 88-91 Civic/CRX DX/Si right
hand axles with 90-93 Integra inner joints. If you have a CRX HF or
Civic Standard model a custom job is called for. OR you can use 88-91 DX\Si knuckles and hubs and make your life simpler."
My axles are of different length so i think i have the stock si axles.

Thats the first time i read you actually had to mill the SI ring gear to fit the ZC.
can't confirm that currently, but seems logical, but ya that site has good info, now i think you should see how much is correct and make a project thread with all the dirty details.
