my buddy has a crx and has a zc motor but he doesnt know how to look for a solnoid, all his block says is ZC it doesnt have any numbers or D or anything

ex: d16a HIS : ZC thats all on the block

is this a vtec motor or no ??

no vtec. end of thread.

and your friend should know how to look for a solenoid. the problem is knowing WHAT the solenoid is and what IT looks like. but he isnt going to find one.

The only VTEC ZC engine is found in an obscure Japanese model Civic. Your friend should be wondering whether he has an SOHC or DOHC ZC, and the answer depends on the year and model of his CRX. Is it the factory engine?

if it is SOHC ZC, it could be VTEC (lots of those around), but not DOHC ZC VTEC

its a single, he can rev it saflty to 7000 rpm thats why he was wondering, id go look for the solonoid if he lived by me but he lives to far just to go look...

its not the stock motor, its a swap...

my buddyjust got rid of his coupe thathad a d16a that was vtec people at our local race shops said it was a zc motor, thats one reaosn im also asking too becuase his car only reved to 7300 k which is only 300 more then my buddy ...

Post a pic of the motor we can then tell you very quickly if its vtec or not but my money is on NO.

i dont got a picture of it, but what is a good website to find zc performance parts, im new to the single motors, i dont kno really wut to look for and wut not and dont kno if its the same as dual

Is it a SOHC or a DOHC??

SOHC ZC has Vtec, DOHC ZC does not have Vtec.

I believe most parts from any D-series will fit on the ZC with some work.

i kno the diffrence between sohc and dohc i was just asking whats a good website for zc parts,

are all zc motors vtec or limited ones ?? my buddy said his zc is like a d16a6 but with a meaner cam ??

what is the best place and best motor upgrands beside I?H?E i mean like for like a better cam and manifolds and all that???

websites please ? iv ebeen looking but all i can find are z6 parts do they fit in the zc's ( and if so z6 are vtec and some zc arent )

your buddy probably only has a sohc (single over head cam) ZC without VTEC they are common swaps in crx's beacause if the car is a si or hf it needs no modification (direct bolt in) as for parts just look for parts for the crx si they fit just the same all of your bolt on like i/h/e are for the d motor so they fit the same and internals are the same as well. and for a side note zc sohc's like nitrous if you would like to know.

so a z6 cam would fit in his motor...thats were i got confused because z6 is vtec and everyone is telling me his isnt and some people are saying his is... so

do u kno any websites that are good for just zc parts or should i just look for him for like d16a6 and shit like that

here an easier question what is a good website to find good performance single overhead parts ??
