i have an 91 crx hf that got wrecked 2 years ago and at the time it ran fine but now i finally got around 2 fix it and it won't run. it will turn over but won't start. if igured new plugs and wires since it sat outside w/out a hood on it 4 6 months.but the new wires and plugs didn't help. i took a wire loose w/a plug attached 2 it 2 c if it was sparking w/i turned it over and there wasn't a spark at the end. maybe i need a coil or distributer cap or rotor button?i did check 2 c if there was moisture under the cap and it was dry. maybe it is something allthogether different wrong need help, please

aahh hhaa, fuel pump!!! i didn't say it this time, i thought it but i didn't say it. seriously though, the fuel pumps tend to stick after sitting for a while. mine did after a year, i was fortunate that after turning car completely on and off with key finally got it to start pumping fuel and car started.

all the fuel in the world aint doing shit without spark
if you find that you checked for spark the wrong way and have spark after all then you can take the small bolt on top of your fuel filter out and cycle the key on and off
on for about 4 sec then of back on for about 4 sec
see if you get fuel spraying out or not
if no then you need to drop the tank and test for power at the pump, with you multi meter on the power and ground pins of the connector, have someone turn the key on, if you have ~11 volts or more (should be slightly lower than what your battery has at the time) then replace the fuel pump
if you do not have power then you need to check the main relay, they tend to go bad also
or you could just start blindly throwing parts at it like everyone else seems to want you to do

i just got excited that someone else said fuel pump besides me, finally. it's just odd to lose spark when nothing has been altered in the system, even after sitting, my car has sat still untouched alot longer than this car and i never had spark issues. hell, i could be wrong though, something could have corroded out in the ignition. who knows, just throw parts at it, literally
tryed the grounding the plug at a better place and not a spark and i tryed to take loose one of the fuel lines that ran to the filter and no gas was coming out either. so i am guessing it is a main fuse relay. i going to buy on 2 morrow.

before you do that, while cranking the engine beat under the dash close to the hood release, if it tries to start then you know thats the problem for sure

common sense would tell you to check all the connections and make sure that getting wet hasn't cause any problems
i never said replace the fuel pump, suggesting it as something to consider, like i said before, thought it was funny someone else said it first, it's not horribly ridiculous to think the fuel pump might not pump fuel right away after sitting for a while. just like considering wiring may have got screwed up in the elements, is a suggestion. if i had a prob and needed help i would take all of you guys suggestions into consideration not just one person in particular.
lots of fuel pumps fail after sittting, moisture gets in there from the car sitting on grass or something. gas tanks have a venting system, to keep the vacuum from being too high. the gas tank needs to bleed off pressure as the gas is burned, so sitting there without being filled with gas or operating can cause moisture to fuck the pump up.
that can happen even after only a year of sitting. sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesnt. my buddy's dad bought a VW to convert to a rarod with a bigass engine on a custom frame, started right up with some starter fluid after sitting for 10 years. my civic needed a fuel pump sitting only a year in a half (old blue civic)
atistang is right about the tapping trick. start it as you are pounded "gently" on the dash by the relay.
but I would test the fuel pump first, easy way, have gas cap OFF, put it back on, turn the key without trying to start car. dash should light up, listen for a humming or whirring, then a click. it it does not happen, either the pump is bad or there is a clog or the fuel pressure regulator is stuck open.
if the regulator was stuck open then you would still hear the pump run
and i'm not trying to be an ass but the guy has no spark and you guys keep telling him to check his fuel pump
its like me making a post about my windshield wipers not working and you guys telling me to check the washer fluid level
we are trying to sort out if its a relay, no spark or fuel with that not working.
with a stuck reg, you wont here it click, cuz it wont ever built the pressure
im just trying to show/tell him teh easiest way to see if the relay is working, much easier to turn the key then pulling the relay, taking the plastic off and checking the solder joints

the click you hear is from the relay, the regulator has nothing to do with it
