i've been browsing some of the o***r crx forums and not gettin exactly what i wanted for help. i have an 88 si thats rusted to hell. of course im restoring the entire car. THEN im going to swap in a a b18a with b16a head. in the meantime i need some help figuring out what all i need to buy. some people have told me im better off to buy an entire integra since im gonna need so many parts out of it. if so great if not please let me know where i can get what i need cheaper. plus i dont even know what all i need. im teaching myself how to work on cars while i do this rex so im kinda lost when it comes to the motor. if anyone has any links or advice please let me know

since it sounds like you'll be on a tight budget. i wouldnt get the whole intega car, imo. cause i think all you need out of it is obivously the engine and the wiring harness?

but anywho, check this list out, should give you all the info you need.

btw, i doubt you will be able to build an LSVTEC yourself since you dont know alot about engines : ) better off finding someone who knows what they are doing and knows how to build engines, and let them do it.

Yeah dont buy the integra it would waste your money. Unless you can get it for less than $500. lol. I would just get the parts that you need seperately. Good Luck on your project.

sonictronic is a name known to allsonictronic is a name known to allsonictronic is a name known to allsonictronic is a name known to allsonictronic is a name known to allsonictronic is a name known to all
What you will really need:

1. B16 head and all that goes with it like vtec solenoid and pressure switch...etc.
2. B18A/B shortblock with cable B16/B17/B18 tranny
3. Aftermarket motor mounts and shift linkage that make the B18 bolt into your rex
4. PR3 or PW0 computer
5. Integra Axles out of 90-93 Integra W/intermediate shaft
6. Braided oil line to run from block to head for VTEC
7. A shop will have to machine the cylinder head dowel holes so the VTEC head will line up on the block right.
8. A VTEC headgasket
9. A timing belt(buy for the year and make of head you get)
10. Not absoulutly nesseccary - VTEC oil pump.

That is a short list that will cover most of what is really needed for the swap.
