Original old school CRX update 02/23/04

Here ya go guys, as promised
Engine is in the car, fully assembled (minus the header)

dirty CMR intake, powder coated valve cover, hose techniques
things you can't see: Mugen forged DU pistons, rods, crank, rings. CMR valve springs and retainers, CMR cam EXTRUDE HONEd head, (screw the old port and polish technique!) taper bored TB, Venom injectors, CMR adjustable FPR, mugen LSD, ( and yes, all the Mugen parts I've mentioned ARE TRUE mugen)

wow, that's LOW.. too low...

but considering that it's not going to be on the street much, I can deel with it... besides, the springs are set at 14.2k each, that's 795lbs for the rear, more than the thing weighs.. so it's all good)

no need to worry though.. because we here at CMR (the in my garage version) are wheel and tire fitment FREAKS... as suggested by this picture.

both widebody kits I have (Mugen and Housman) aren't going to go on this CRX.. I have another CRX that I wrecked at Leguna Seca raceway last year (not too much damage, just body) and I'm thinking of turning that into more of a showoff all for looks car... this CRX is for street racing.

yea, this is the Ballade Sports model... I stripped everything down to just the shell after it got messed with... only Ballade Sports goodies that are going back on are:
the side exit exhaust, guage cluster, and maybe the seats. everything else was either for the 1.5l engine or just didn't go with the rest of the car.

if someone gives me like 1800.. I'll put the houseman kit on this car too

LOL you guys crack me up!

I'm dynoing the CRX today.. had to tow it to the shop because the streets around here are rough.

hopefully I'll be able to post a sheet up soon, so far we've wrung about 260 HP.. but it's not all usable... that's just peak, I'm gonna be looking for a smooth power curve, even if it means I'm gonna sacrifice some at the top end. (by the way, my Redline is 8500, maybe after some more tuning I'll get the 9000+ I wanted

Hey guys! WOW! that's all I can say. This engine has exceeded my expectations.

1.7L ZC1 (overbored) 13.2:1 compression ratio. Mugen forged pistons, rods (balanced, duh). knife edged and micropolished crank. posted block, stock sleeves, HKS metal head gasket Everything blueprinted (not to the extent of some race teams, but pretty extensive) Extrude Honed head, 3 angle vavle job, chambered to match cylinder bore, match ported and polished ZC intake (soon to be switching to a CMR unit) SM&H Mugen spec 4-1 header, Ballade Sports 2.5" exhaust (no cat, no muff), CMR intake, Venom injectors, CMR adjustable FPR, CMR cams and Ti retainers and springs.

I'm going to go smog it later this week... if I pass I'm going to shit myself (lucky I don't have to smog on a dyno, just a sniffer test) but I might be able to pull it off either by slipping a 50 or whatever.. last engine smogged super clean and even that was a crazy engine... I'm going to use the stock Si exhaust to smog with.
