I'm not sure how hard it is to put it in (the whole cutting part) but if your interested, im pretty sure i have the sunroof off of my 89 crx si, id have to check, but right now im at school
The sunroof assymbly+motor is one big unit. It covers almost the whole underside of the crx roof. I took the headliner out when I owned my HF and found that it had all of the bolt holes under the roof skin to put in a sunroof. Cutting the whole is the tricky part because the Si has a 1/2" lip that goes down around the sunroof panel. Duplicating that kind of a hole would be tricky. It would be less hassle to go with an aftermarket peice.

that is out of the question. have too much memories invested in this car. from what it was to what it is and what it is to become.
i was looking to maybe a 99 LS sunroof, but that maybe too big. i thought maybe going with stock would be easier than aftermarket. ill take my headliner off and see from there. im away at school and wont get home until dec 13th.. but ill post on this thread and let everyone know how it turns out.
Originally posted by njn63 there is also indents all around for the rain channel and about a 3" channel in the back. I left mine open (just the back, tilted) all summer and rain never got in the interior because of that. I'm not sure if that's part of the assembly but i really doubt it.

Most definitely. I actually wanted to go the other way when I had a 1988 SI (sunroof removal, that is). And the cost of changing the roof panel was somewhere around $1700. I picked up a 1988 DX for MUCH less than that. And I was then able to sell the SI.
To note the DX is missing some drainage rails that the Si comes equipped with so it wont ever drain the same but as long as you do it right you shouldn't have leakage problems.

yea....dont cut .. it would be easier getting a whole roof top off a donor or junkyard car with the sunroof already cut and in....and as the man above said JDM GLASS ROOF TOP....drooolll....
