What all needs to be done to complete this swap? Let me know if I miss anything. Thanks
-using hydro tranny so hasport mounts and hydro conversion kit
-obd1 dizzy for z6
-obd1 ecu p28 in my case
-obd0-obd1 conversion harness
-4wire o2 sensor
What else? Does it matter what engine wire harness I use?
Or does anyone know a site with good info on this swap or a write up on this site or another site??
you need to use the engine harness that came in your car and make any necessary wiring changes to it - engine harnesses are not interchangeable between different models and sometimes not even interchangeable between different years of the same model
use the engine harness that is in it now - if it had a DOHC ZC in it, they had to still use the original harness and rewire the distributor - if it doesn't have a harness and it is the HF model, you need the HF harness
Ok.. yea the harness that was in it is all jacked up so imma just buy a new one. But as far as vtec and a few other things, i am going to have to find plugs and wire that into the harness and ecu correct?
Will i still have to do a dpfi to mpfi swap? If so how? I am not familiar with that at all.
I really wish i can find a hatch this crx is starting to be a bit more than i wanted to take on haha.
if it is the HF model, it is already MPFI and you would just need the HF harness - if it is a DX, it would have been DPFI, but if it had a DOHC ZC in it, then it has already been converted to MPFI - does the car have seat belts attached to the door or are they on the C pillar behind the doors? - 89 HF did not have seat belts in the doors
Now that I think of it, its a DX. Cuz it has the seat belts in the doors. I think I know what to do now.
Get a dx harness or a dpfi harness, same thing. Get the obd0 to obd1 harness from rywire that comes with the 4wire o2 harness. Get the denso o2 sensor from rywire. Get the dizzy adapter plug, p28, obd1 dizzy, and plugs for the misc things, such as vtec, on the z6 that the dx harness doesnt have. But I also have to convert to mpfi.
