Good write up I'd like to give seafoam a shot, but I'm just scared that the carbon it cleans out might be what's holding my motor together right now. Has anyone successfully used seafoam with over 140k miles and not had any negative side effects?

what's the recommned mileage for this treatment? I'm looking at 38K right now on my lude. Mike you have any pics of the hose i'm suppose to pull off to pour/put in the seafoam? I'm a little bit unclear with the location of the hose/inlet.

I will be performing this again on my car soon to have a write-up for the prelude section.

I will photograph and video it. Yeah under 150k is what they say. I wouldnt risk a few horsepower if that were the case.

Under 150k only, cause im about to test that out on my 88 rex which have 185+k before do it to the lude. Oh well, that be great if you do it on your car with picture so I can follow it step by step without messing up anything.

btw, my lude have 131k on it.

would taking out the hose that connects from the valve cover to the intake cut down on the cartbon build-up? i believe i've seen people with catchcans there.

Just an update. I went to napa today. Got seafoam, will have an update on it soon. Also another update. You can find this product amazingly at advance discount auto parts, for less even! I was amazed. After going to napa specifically for it, or so I thought. I went to discount after and saw they have it now.

Now I never need to goto napa. I also noticed advanced auto had redline water wetter & K&N oil filters. Pretty nice. It was a good day. Now everything is at one store for me.

I just gave my 5th gen the sea foam treatment yesterday and it runs a little stronger now. All u need to do is suck it out of the can with the car on through any vacuum line into the intake manifold. aNote you will need a buddy to rev the car so it wont stall out.

Would it be a good idea to put seafoam in a spray bottle so you can evenly coat the IM with a mist instead of just pouring it in? I just took of the intake to look in there - butterfly valve and stuff have some kinda lt brown gunk. Time for some cleaning.

i don't think sea foam works like a spray on cleaner, i believe it's more of a draino style product...but i maybe wrong.
