Ok so I have a 97 Prelude h22a4, It has about 200000 miles on it and I've had it for almost a year now. It has always ran great never gave me any troubles. Lately I have noticed it seems like vtec isnt working sometimes. Some days i'll drive it and when I get on it Vtec kicks hard then other times it seems like it never even hits vtec and my vtec kicks in at about 4800. I can run it to 6k or so and vtec will never kick in. Is that a vtec solenoid going bad or something esle?
Thanks for the help in advance!
Yes is did and its dead on the full mark and it only has about a 1000 miles on the oil change, I haven't checked the pressure yet. I was told it could just be clogged from oil gunk.
I had the same problem with my civic... never could figure it out
