if u have a lude and u thinkin of this u need to be properly disposed of, however in my civic , if i would have known at the time, i would have made my intake out shit i could get the home depot
I havent done anything to my lude, i was just wonderin what you guys have done. Cuz there is this one dude in my auto mechanics course with a 92 honda civic HB,that said he was going to put a hair dryer fan in his intake to get more air and make it faster. Man that foo is crazy! He even drew what he was going to do. The next day he came back disappointed and defeated. He said it needed too much stuff.

i personally wouldn't recommend the coolant bypass, i tried that crap on my lude and got an irratic idle in cold weather. i would remove the resonator, remove the hose going from the valve cover to the intake (near the throttle body) and cap the end on the intake, but NOT the end on the valve cover. if you want you can put a little k&n breather filter on there. look at it like this with the hose connected its sucking hot air out of your engine, however, it is also putting the hot air into your intake air stream, but with it disconnected the hot air is sorta just seeping out of the engine but its also not going into the intake. i disconnected mine and have had no problems.

If you do the coolant bypass correctly, you will not get a weird idle in any weather.
The breather hose is there for a reason, to "draw" out fumes from the top of the valve cover. If you dont want oil in your intake then you need to purchase a catch can.
Funny how you dont want "hot air" in your intake but you are allowing the coolant to heat up your intake manifold WAYY beyond what little heat could be gathered from the top of the valve cover. I suggest you redo the coolant bypass correctly to keep your intake manifold cool.
yeah that is funny. how can you screw up a coolant bypass? i ran a hose from the outlet that supplies the coolant for the throttle body to the inlet where the coolant goes after going through the throttle body. its just skipping the throttle body. it may not have been the bypass that caused the irratic idle, but when i fixed it back right it stopped.

You must take the IACV off and block the holes with something so that air does not make it past the butterfly plate. The IACV needs to basically be voided when you do the bypass. You can completely remove it if you machine a plate and get shorter screws to secure the plate to the bottom of the tb where the IACV was and have it seal.
