Disconnect the speedo plug, and drive it for the next 13k miles or so, then plug it back in again.... But with my lude, i know how to turn back or forward the mileage dial. for 5th gens i think its different and more difflicuct.

on the 5gen i dont know if where talking about disconnecting the same thing but when i did my indiglos i messed up the first time. my gas/temp/rmp and milage wasnt working. so i think if he diconnexted his speedo plug nothing will be working. lets just say on long road trips i dont put any miles on my lude

You have to contact your local hp and get the swap registered to avoid legal issues.

tech wrench

The correct thing to do is to swap ONLY the damaged part of the cluster. Most every major city has a speedometer repair shop. They can legally fix your cluster without disturbing the Odometer.
If you cannot find it in the Yellow pages ask the Police for the name of the shop they use.
Driving backwards-NOT.
