PS: I loved that car, but I hated the way the front end started bouncing up and down whenever I tried to launch from a light. What do you guys do about that?

I had great tires.

And as for "learning to drive" - That was a lame comment. I got the Prelude after having a gen-2 RX-7 Turbo, which game after having an 1986 IROC. I had been launching a certain way for almost 10 years.

You obviously need to launch differently in the front-wheel drive car, and after the first three times I bounced all over the place, I did exactly what you suggested, but I always felt like I was holding back from a true launch. I was wondering if there was any mods or any tricks I could have done to launch under maximum thrust. Launching lower and slipping the clutch more prevent the bounce, but they also prevent you from launching at full power - I was wondering if there was a way to get the most of my launches without having to hold back. I guess there wasn't anything else I could have done. That was a main factor in my going back to rear-driven cars.

Anyway, it's academic now since I don't have the Lude anymore - I was just curious.

Thanks guys. The reason I'm here is because I'm considering another Prelude as a weekend toy (the last one was a daily driver). I'm torn between the Lude and a few other cars so I'm soaking up what I can in the meantime.

If I tighten up the suspension and get the LSD and better motor mounts, will the bouncing go away or just be less of an issue?

Mine completely went away with stiffer suspension and upgraded shocks.

Tein SS will work fine...if you still have the problem...either you have bad motor mounts...or your driving needs work.

The best launches have barely any wheelspin at all. Feathering the clutch from about 3k rpm will give you the best results.
