restalling half-shaft and cv joint

HI All,

I spend the day taking off the half-shaft. Now I cannot put it back. i will not go in all the way...I would only go in half way. It seems to be stuck..have you guys have any luck with restalling the front half-shaft? Should I hammer it in...I'm afraid I will break the new parts?

Thanks,

usually you just kinda do a shove back and forth thing in the hole til it pops in, you'll literally hear "pop".

^^^ this. you have to really give it a good "jolt" to get it into place. that o-ring at the end of the spline has to "snap" into the tranny. you will feel and hear it go in.
