2005 Pilot braking problem

Ok thought I was crazy the first time we had it.. the 2nd day we owned the pilot ... but my wife was in the car with me and I started to brake but uh oh its not doing anything... so I basically had the brake down to the floor and its just barely slowing...... felt almost like it was skipping a little - like the abs was working... very slowly.... but that there was not enough brake pressure.... almost like the master cylinder went out for that moment.... well after we finally stopped at the light... I tested it several times and it braked normally.... but 2 weeks later my wife called me up and she told me it did it to her to... would barely stop and it was jerky and she had the petal to the floor.... Has anyone else had this issue? Not even 600 miles on it now... going to take it in... but without Warning lights... will they replace the Master cyl.. the abs modulator? or what.... how can they find out what is wrong without being able to duplicate and I am not going to wait for a car accident to prove something is wrong..... I know its a heavy vehicle but its a clear difference in stopping ability to other times when we are braking in it... HUGE noticeable difference...

Honda solution

Honda fixed it supposedly... could not duplicate but they replaced the only two parts it could be to be safe and avoid a lawsuit... replaced the brake master cyl... and the brake booster.... so far so good.... hate that it had a problem already but hopefully that is the last of it!

THEY REPLACED ALL - OR DID THEY?

ahh, ahhh, ahh, now that is not fun at all. by the way, abs, when it works, gives a jerky sensation. it's very uncomfortable when you switch from non-abs car to abs one, it's like your brakes are not following your command. indeed it is, because abs will not permit your brakes to jam the rotor and losens brake pads as soon as your rotor slows down to a certain point. so, the question is - did they check/replace all of this:
ABS systems use a combination of electronic and hydraulic systems to modulate the brakes individually to prevent them from locking. Antilock systems basically consist of wheelspeed sensors, a hydraulic control unit (HCU), and an electronic control unit (ECU).

During braking the wheelspeed sensors measure the rotational speed of the wheels and forward this information to the ECU. If the ECU determines that one wheel is decelerating at a much greater rate than another (indicating that the brake is about to lock), the ECU directs solenoid valves in the HCU to open to release hydraulic pressure to the brake until the rotational speed of the errant wheel matches the others.

so, what about the ECU, HCU sensor and all the wiring that comes with it? honestly, find a good, reputable indpendent mechanic that did nothing but brakes for the last 30 yrs - and have it evaluated. lawsuit is good, if there's one alive left to do it. it's brakes, not a windshield wiper. be well!

that sucks... brand new ride with less than a thousand miles already having a problem...

ghey!!!

maybe it was a bad master cylinder, or it could be poor vaccum connection to the brake booster...

but goddamn, 600 miles it shouldn't be having a problem like that.
