2005 Pilot starting problems

I own a 2005 Pilot that is having problems starting. The battery is working, all accessory lights turn on once the key is in the ignition. When attempting to turn the engine over there is a clicking noise. The car has been taken into the shop and was told the starter is not the problem. Anyone have any advice on what this issue could be?

That sounds like a weak battery, at least I have had the same symptoms and the battery was the cause. Although on a damn near new car the battery should not even be close to weak. Good luck and post up your findings.

check to make sure the battery cables are tight on the battery and at the locations they connect to.

The car sometimes will turn over and then sometimes it won't. I can't find any pattern on it working and not working. I'll check the connections to the battery in the morning though and see if that is the cause. Any other suggestions?

The only thing at this point I could tell you is to go ahead and clean all the terminals and cable clamps. If thats not the case and the starter is fine, I would have to say the battery is weak. It may show 13.5 volts or more on a volt meter, but a load test would determine if it has enough amps while the starter is drawing power.

The car is an ‘O5 shouldn’t it have some sort of warranty on it, if so take it to the dealer.
