On my 96 Passport 4x4, the dash light that indicates it's in 4x4 is on, even after I switch from 4x4 back to 2wd. There is also the axle lock-up noise coming from the rear axle when you turn that sounds like its in 4x4. Since this is a mechanical 4x4 lever, doesn't it switch with the lever movement and the light is somehow malfunctioning when it remains on? How can I trouble shoot this?
