Chevy basing an SUV from a Saturn Vue?

Chevrolet will introduce a new crossover SUV called the Equinox in 2004. The new model is based on the Saturn Vue that was introduced earlier this year, The Associated Press reported.
GM has not announced where it will build the vehicle although there is speculation that it will be an assembly plant in Ingersoll, Ontario.
No decision has been made yet on whether the Equinox will replace the Tracker, a holdover from the defunct Geo brand now being sold as a Chevy. According to GM, Tracker sales are down 17% this year and trail every competitive vehicle in its class.
"Tracker was the first of the small SUV's. The market has evolved as customers look for larger, more upscale products," a GM spokesman said.
