2005 Nissan Altima SE-R, 260hp

Nissan strives to take its "high performance - high value" SE-R philosophy to the next level in 2005 with the addition of a new Altima SE-R.

The Altima SE-R builds on the redesigned 2005 3.5-liter V-6-equipped Altima, adding 10 additional horsepower (for a total of 260 hp), forged 18-inch wheels, three-gauge center instrument cluster, aggressive front fascia, rear spoiler, painted brake calipers, high-flow mufflers, large diameter chrome dual exhaust finishers, and black leather-appointed sport seats.

The Altima SE-R, set to arrive at Nissan dealers nationwide September 22, joins the currently available Sentra SE-R and Sentra SE-R Spec V lineup and will offer a Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $29,200.

eek yea 29.2k is pretty high for it. It's alright looking and all but for that price and looking at other cars in that price range there is alot of compatition. STi, EVO, TL, 350Z, G35, Legacy GT hmm not a hard choice on any of them

I agree with DC5. $29.2 is high for that. All those cars he listed have a better performance than the altima se-r also.... well. Yea.

the price is that high because its not going to appeal to the evo/350z/sti drivers out there now... this is for the person who is looking at cars like altimas/galants and sees it a a nice sporty step up without going total performance car with insane insurance.

i like it...looks pretty nice to me and it's working off a good engine.
however, just like everyone else's thoughts, it's pricey...for that kind of money i wouldn't even consider it for a performance car, mid-sized sedan, or combo of those 2...there are others cars out there that are better in each of those aspects in that price range. bring it down $4-5k...now that's a different story.
i don't like the SE-R badging of it though...SE-R is too indicative of the Sentra. i think using V-Spec would be better received, at least for me it would.

wow..same like TL typt S... 260hp i bet they have more trq since nissan have bigger engine. nice... too bad honda doesnt have one....just the slow accord...IMA with 255hp...

an accord can hit 14.5 1/4 mile...thats pretty fast for an accord

Yeah I agree not everyone is looking for a preformance based car (STi/EVO/350z), but the Legacy GT, Accord V6 and G35 Sedan are less or right around the same price as the Altima. And all of them are alot better buys IMO

nebar with the benz you get 13.5 out of the box. Mercedes Luxury comfort and pimpability along with amg shit talking privladges. You cant match the pimpability and performance combination for the price. You want to hit 12s a pulley and a chip. You want to hit 11s throw in a bottle. I had the pleasure of riding in a c32 amg with the pulley and the chip and man does it pull. I also rode in one that had a 75 shot and one with a 100 shot. Its the car that let me know that BMW's m series isnt shit any more

What New Benz are you getting for $30k? Only thing in that range is the C230 Sports Coupe or the Sedan.
