2006 Acura RL vs. 2006 Lexus GS300

ok i am going out on a limb here. the next GS is due out as 2006 MY. as we all know, the RL is coming this year (2005MY). the 2006 RL shoudl be the same.

RL:

2006 Lexus GS300:

2006 Lexus GS430

Lexus GS300:
Engines: 3.0 liter V6 - 245 hp; 228 lb.-ft. of torque
6-speed auto, close ratio
optional AWD, standard RWD.
MSRP close to $40k starting

Acura RL:
3.5, 300hp, 260 lb.-ft. of torque
SH_AWD,
$48,900 with navi.
******

i dunno. i like the GS styling, but it lacks power. i would get the GS430.

I'd take the Toyota. I wouldn't consider any other Japanese manufacturer for a luxury car.

i like both design.. but power and price... we gotta wait until GS430 come out and see the TOTAL price.. with all the options and std features. which one is more bang for the bucks...and performance too. lets see whether toyota/lexus RWD/AWD can out perform honda/acura SH_AWD

I don't think I would get the new $40k hatchback underpowered lexus... toyota has been pussing out on all thier cars lately and while they may have the reliability title I think acura designed a better overall car...

I agree with dodo, the GS430 is like the only car that isn't pussyfied. The IS300 comes with that extremely watered down degenerate supra engine. But the GS430 (This is the IS300 with the aluminium V8 right?) come with the lexus v8 and the supra tranny.

the GS430 will get the V8, probably making over 300hp. expect to pay about $15k more for the car (probably has more standard feature too).

there are rumors flying around about the IS430. basically, its the next gen IS but offered with a V8 motor. i started a few threads in here about the v8 IS, look for it. its worth a read.

to offer any engine of that size and power would require some balls in the management of Toyota and sadly... there are no real ballz left. Mincy faggot ones only. Toyota have no performance division anymore they replaced the designers of the IS300, Supra, and previous gen MR2 models with engineers from oldsmobile. I'll believe it when I see it
