550 hp, and a slight weight loss of about 150 lbs, for about 55k, I would definitely get it. Convertible Z06 a plus. The restyling cues are excellent, they fix up the C6's few weak spots. I saw on the Discovery channel that the ducts for brake cooling could've been better but were a compromise for aerodynamics. The rear styling was iffy for me, that booty was just too big.

I like big butt and i can not lie... ...
....
Although,.. I do drive a CRX.
I can't wait for the Z06 either. The Vette is the only Chevy I like.
With the z06 being the high-performance varient, no convertible or targa top will/should be offered. Both would lessen the structural rigidity, which would call for further bracing, upping the weight in the process. Overall, a hardtop is the best way to go from a performance standpoint.
Any ideas on what the Ls7 will be packing? I've heard 427 cubes .

Yep, to my dismay, you are right. Just like the C5. I wonder if they are going to put real springs in the rear of the C6 Z06 other than the stock leaf springs.
Also it seems the Corvette Z06 will be 500 hp according to the designer. Check it out here:
Though spy shots of the Z06 version of the C6 Corvette don’t appear to reveal much, we can discern that engineer David Hill’s latest high-performance creation may come with a first-ever-for-Z06 removable hardtop. Reports of a possible air scoop at the leading edge of the hood, however, appear unfounded. The car also sports typical Z06 features, such as wider tires tucked behind flared front and rear fenders, and lighter-weight, two-piece 10-spoke wheels. We also note red Brembo brake calipers tucked behind the wheels. The 2006 model Z06 reportedly packs a 7.0-liter 500-hp V8, and debuts at the Detroit auto show in January.
