CYPRESS, Calif. (Dec. 5, 2005) Mitsubishi Motors North America (MMNA) will push the limits again with the world reveals of two more vehicles that thrill the 2007 Eclipse Spyder and the Concept-CT MIEV at the upcoming 2006 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in January. The company is building its strongest product portfolio in history, launching six new vehicles in less than three years, including the all-new 2006 Eclipse, Raider mid-size pickup truck, and now the 07 Eclipse Spyder.
The Eclipse Spyder and the breakthrough Concept-CT continue the excitement of the brand and demonstrate new design directions and potential future technologies, said MMNA President and CEO Rich Gilligan. We are rebuilding our brand with products that consistently reinforce our commitment to being driven to thrill.
2007 Eclipse Spyder
Based on the widely acclaimed 2006 Eclipse coupe, the 07 Spyder will provide drop-top fun combined with head-turning design. Luxurious enhancements will place the affordable 2 + 2 convertible in an attainable exotic position. Both GS and GT trim lines will be available, each with a powerful MIVEC engine and 650-watt Rockford Fosgate Premium Audio system along with a few other surprise features usually reserved for high-priced convertibles and cabriolets.
Mods: A pair of angel wings and 2 cans of red bull... Mighty fast!
2 + 2 seater my ass... Whoever sit at the back will need an exotic position allright.
Actually... I don't know squat about the eclipse, it's an FF car right? I have zero interest in Mitsubishi. But I like how the designer cut the top, it flows with the body line, unlike european chopped top which looks like a slab of brick with windshield.

many 2+2's have pretty useable back seats.... i.e. the prelude. that's a pretty clever statement tho
anyhow who has driven the new eclipses? how is it? i've seen a few around but they are far from head turning :noo

I knew that, sat rather comfortably on the RX-8 back seat, I mean the +2 seat on the sketched Eclipse, it has only 1/3 the space of the front seat. So people who will sit on the back seat will either a belly dancer or a contorsionist.
Hprelude92: "God EXIST"
SuperAkuma: "How do you know that God exist?"
Hprelude92: "God exist because the Bible said so"
SuperAkuma: "How do I know the Bible is true"
Hprelude92: "Because God wrote the Bible"
and the party peice of the new eclipse spyder will be that i'll weight EVER MORE then 3 million pounds! the v6 is 3545 lbs...add maybe 100lbs at least for the spyder.
Did you know that the Mustang GT has had a 1000+watt factory audio option for over a year now? It costs like 1,300 bucks. Factory systems are stepping up big.
1,300 could = something more useful like a performance package. I think $1,100 on the Neon SRT4 gets you Recaro seats, bilstein shocks, lower springs, 18" wheels and tires, etc... Something similar on the mustang v6 and GT would be nice for that 1300 bucks.
I mean, is 1000+ watts really needed? They already offer a pretty good 500watt factory system on the mustang for alot less $$.
