More power for Nissan's 350Z
Nissan has upgraded the 350Z Coupe and Roadster for 2006 and added another 20bhp to the mix.
Power goes up to 296bhp and helps the Coupe crack 0-62mph in 5.8 seconds, with the Roadster just behind on 6.3 seconds.
Top speed remains electronically limited to 155mph.
There are minor revisions to the exterior, which has a new front bumper and deeper scoops ahead of the front wheels, and there are bi-Xenon headlamps now.
At the rear, there are LED lamps in the triangular light clusters.
There are some minor changes to the interior, with improvements to the quality of materials and positioning of minor switchgear.
Buyers can now also equip the 350Z with a satellite-navigation system that uses Nissan's Birdview screen.
Nissan has said prices for the revised 350Z will go up slightly, but nothing has been confirmed ahead of the car's arrival in April 2006.

I've driven a 2005 6-speed w/ 287 and a 35th Anniversary with 300 at the dealership, and you cannot tell any difference with the extra 13 hp.
That's because you lose like 14lb-ft of tq in the process of gaining 13hp . You're just trading tq for hp. That explains why the 300hp version really isn't any faster than the 287hp version.
Hp may have went up from 287hp to 300hp, but tq went down from 274lb-ft to 260lb-ft.
Btw: according to msnauto, all 2006's have the 300hp engine. No mention of 287hp, even for the auto's.

and you still have an older car even if you have more power...
Newer ain't always better. A lot comes down to what the buyer wants/needs. For instance, I dont need or particularly want navigation. I dont need AC in my car, since it's a convertable. I could care less about power steering. I prefer cloth seats to leather. Sometimes an older model is nicer (IMO) than the newer model...
I mostly cant stand the exhaust note. I really hate it. It sounds fake, like a video game exhaust. It doesnt change pitch with RPM, just volume, and it sounds kind of... off... hollow?

this comes down to personal preference, IMO...someone just want performance out of this car, so no need for those extra features...others might just be careless about performance but they just like the look and want more features in it...

My big gripe about this car is that the styling is way too ugly for me, especially the rear end, it feels and looks bulky. My 2nd reason is that the exhaust note is annoying as hell, even under low rpms the exhaust gurgles. 3rd reason for a 300 hp car its times aren't really all that mind blowing. 4th reason most Z/G35 owners i've seen really don't know much about cars, so i a got feeling they bought it because its the new "trendy car" to have.
