If an insurance company were to ever require it then I'm pretty sure they'd lose a lot of money/customers.
i don't think they will ever make it mandatory because there alot of cars on the road that are older and dont have the technology, they could only do it for new cars

True but it was to escape taxes and other socialist crap. Don't get me wrong I love Canada but not the government crap.
Now how the hell can totally nannying our cars be a positive thing. Sure it protects us from the stupid who can drive but where else is it gonna help to limit a cars speed on the open highway.
Now if such a system were installed in cars that could be triggered say before a work/construction zone preventing people from exceeding X speed it might save some workers. Once enough cars had it they would block everyone else and hence no work zone speeding. Humm ground based transponders signal the cars to slow down a maintain no more that X speed, cops could have a kill the engine signal to stop car chases I guess. ACLU would fight it to the end. :clap
