I hope this isn't true, No Challenger

Design chief: Currently no plans to produce Challenger Concept

Kevin Verduyn, head of Chrysler’s U.S. design operations, stated over the weekend that his company currently has no plans to produce the recently leaked Challenger Concept. The car is expecting to debut in concept form that the Detroit auto show in January, and recent spy photos revealed a completely undisguised prototype. Verduyn does point out, however, that there has been a massive interest in the car since the spy photos began circulating online. One can only assume Verduyn is playing it safe, and leaving any official announcement of production to the appropriate executives. Should the Challenger go into production, Verduyn says he thinks it should remain two-door. That would make sense, considering the Dodge Charger fills the four-door muscle car segment.

well dodge should produce it because personally i don't like the charger or the 300C all that much, the challenger is much better

I would expect it to fail to make production. If it makes it, chances are it'll be a rebadged 300C.

They already have that in the Charger.

What they don't have is a coupe version built off the LX platform. They already have 2 sedans (300 and charger) and wagon (magnum), but no coupe. This challenger would fill that void quite nicely.

I think we'll see it. Dodge (like GM) is not looking past Ford success with the mustang and will want a piece of the coupe market too.

I would like to see the charger become more historically accurate as the muscle car coupe and the challenger as the sedan. I think thats what I was trying to say. Although a Challenger as Mustang competition would be pretty darn cool!
