they already are. you should read the stuff on MT's forum. They are so livid about the GT-R. Especially the Z06 boys
what's that? i wanna take a look at the forum in general. got a link ?

GO JAPAN!!! or more specifically GO NISSAN!!!!!!!!!!
not like i drive a nissan or anything.................
it makes me sick that the corvette is considered a muscle car...
it's a sports car...
and the gt-r is a grand tourer, though capable of sports car performance levels...
the mentality that anything with a v8 must be a muscle car is just narrow thinking...

check it out. more from MT 2009 Nissan GT-R - First Test - Motor Trend
got the GT-R down to 3.2 sec 0-60. The pure numbers are staggering from different mags road test of the GT-R. C&D had the GT-R 0-60 in 3.2-3.3. R&T had over 1.0G's lateral. C&D had GT-R's 70-0 in 145ft. MT had 1/4mile in 11.3sec at 121mph. It is ridiculous what the "base" GT-R is capable of. Not finished, MT recorded longitudinal gravity over 1.0G for over 2seconds during their 0-60 test. Wow
and get this the MT's 0-60 number is SAE corrected meaning it added 1.1percent to the time over the real test number. So its bit quicker to 60 than 3.2sec suggest. Folks this is a 3800+lbs car. Did i mention it is faster than the 911Turbo and the Z06 in Willow Springs by 6 seconds? Anyone familiar with racing, 6seconds a lap is a lifetime. Many Vette fanboys are praying for a miracle in the ZL1 but GM has already predicted that the ZL1 will be slower than the Z06 around a track because of its added mass though it will be faster on the strip. But the GT-R Evo or V-Spec is getting lighter by almost 500lbs and its getting an additional 80hp over the "base" GT-R. This is what happens when you piss off Nissan. I've also seen dyno charts from an obscured Japanese mag where they dynoed the GT-R and it dynoed 480ps to the wheels. By the way Nissan advertised 480ps at the crank for the GT-R.
one more, MT also states that GT-R has extremely short gearing on 1-3 gears. If the GT-R were to have say Z06's gearing where 1st gear takes you to beyond 60mph, with the low end tq Z06 have, GT-R wouldn't need a 2-3shift. Making the GT-R much faster than the z06

what sucks is people not giving credit where its due...
and whether or not you like corvettes, mustangs, nissans, etc...
those are STAGGERING numbers that should be respected.
and it is even more sickening that total morons, unqualified and unskilled, with no proper training, can drive it just because they can afford it...
(just think of all the momma's boys that are going to be driving around in one and crashing them because they watched f&f tokyo drift)
bastards all of them!

yeah I'm going to be hating if I see some young pimple faced kid driving a GT-R around town, because his parents let him borrow the GT-R. I figured at this price range the GT-R is going for, only doctors, and astronauts are going to be able to drive the. Pretty much like most Z06 driver
You will not believe the amount of hate the GT-R is getting from the pushrod boys in some forums.
