good stuff. NSX was never intended to be hyper exotic like the F40 or the 512TR of its day. GT-R is the truth
This GTR kicks all kinds of ass, I just can't fathom the fact that it's "only" going to be around $70k!!??/? What the fuck did I miss here? I'm hoping there won't be one around every gawd daym corner like 'vettes you know?
The NSX needs to be resurrected in the right way and I'm glad Honda didn't make the HSC the next NSX...it just didn't seem right, it wasn't ugly(actually was not bad looking), but it just wasn't the NSX.
Mods: 10 years and 320,000 miles later and still no engine swap yet...

Not knocking the cars, because there fast as hell but just not my thing, I could never see myself driving one.
the corvette, as good as it is, is just out there too much, especially with too many special editions, many of them coming across as looking tacky or contrived... (like lindsay lohan, paris hilton, britney spears tv coverage everywhere you look at every hour of the day)...
knowing the japanese companies, they don't usually proliferate tons of specials like chevy does with america's sports car...
which should, with the limited production numbers, keep the gt-r from overpopulating the streets like civics... ()

Yeah like the Z06 427 Edition. Which is redundant since all Z06's have a 427 LS7 in it. Or the Vette Z51, Z69, Z92, Z2000, Z1million etc., etc.. Even though the Z51 and such is a option package to the Vette but do you need a badge that states it so? I don't see TSX drivers driving a TSX with either A-SPec badge or a Navi badge on it. GT-R is limited to 12000units globally, with I think less than half coming to the US per year. Thats less than 6000 GT-R's a year in the US compared to like 40,000+ Vettes a year in the US. I believe the GT-R V-Spec or Evo spec coming in extremely low numbers. But in my GT4 garage, I have like 40versions of the R34 GT-R's I also read that dealers are looking to add like between 25-50% premiums on the GT-Rs that are being pre-sold. Thats anywhere from $20K to $40K on top of the MSRP. Even though Nissan is strongly discouraging price gouging, even asked potential buyers to contact Nissan NA if they are being gouged on the price. I don't see Porsche, GM, Ferrari doing this. One time I just peeked at a Ferrari 599GTB in a Ferrari dealership in Charlotte NC thru the showroom glass, and the Ferrari salesman wanted to charge me like $5000 Go Nissan, and I can't wait to see what the V-Spec or Evo spec will be like
Just saw my first US GT-R on the street (metallic silver). It was Friday evening (around 7:15pm) in San Pedro (Divine-W will know the area I'm guessing) heading on Gaffey towards the ocean. The plates were dealer plates but were partially covered up with what looked like white tape. It looked something like "_76R_".
I had my cellie in my pocket and I got a non-adjustable bucket seat so I couldn't get to my camera with the high side bolsters in the way.
The one thing that suprised me was how quiet it was when it started to accelerate from dead stops (signal lights, etc.). Just from that little experience it seemed much quieter then stock R32's-34's I've seen in the past (both in Japan and MotoRex imports).
Considering the area I live in, I usually don't get too hyped up about seeing expensive cars... but yeah, I admit that it made me do a doubletake when I noticed it.

this happened when the 350Z came out. also on SRTs, Cobras, Z06s all got gouged as well. it's called "Dealer Availability Cost" & nobody will change that. it's all about being the 1st customer & who can fork over more $$$ to be bumped up the list
Inertia type dynos like the Dynojet use large, heavy rollers that employ a 4800-pound roller capable of measuring 1200 horsepower at each axle and measure the rate at which the drivetrain can accelerate them.
