Jeez, I'd be so afraid to rally a rear-engined car.

I cannot see how a rear wheel drive car could cope with the rough terrans that wrc has. At anyrate.. it's never going to be in the wrc due the the fact that all wrc cars has an engine size cap ( I believe it's capped at 2L)

exactly. that's why cars like the evo and sti are so damn ugly. so people aren' afraid to mess them up on the rally course.

Well, looking the wheels and the ride height, I can tell the car isn't setup to take on the rougher gravels rallies of the WRC. Its probably used on asphalt rallies and maybe some light gravel ones like you see in the picture. Definitely nothing like Cyprus, Acropolis, or Turkish rallies. And yes, rally existed way before AWD came about.

sheesh, rallying on 18"s or 19"s...that's crazy. one good bump and those things will bend. sweet looking car though. i wonder if they'll eventually jack it up some like they did their old 911 rally car? but wasn't that car awd?

EDIT:
Power transmission
Synchronised six-speed transmission
Rear-wheel drive
Racing clutch
Locking differential: 40/60%

this must be a misprint...how can it have a locking diff at 40/60% as a RWD? they must have meant AWD. aren't the new 911s AWD anyhow?

You mean the 959? (Group B)

The current Carrera 4 and it's permutations are awd.
