"Toyotas can be so benign, so vanilla,
that they’ll slip right through your hands
without leaving an impression. Not the
new RAV4. This is such a handsome,
useful, and startlingly competent driver
that it’s hard to imagine a do-it-all vehicle
that does more with such aplomb. We still
don’t know exactly how to classify the
RAV4, except as fairly marvelous."
Now, holy crap. Basically thing thing will sh*t all over X5 4.4, FX45, NA Cayenne, and all that for a fraction of the price. Not to mention it will be far more reliable. how about the CR-V??

Fuck the Crv. Knowing Honda, they'll keep it a 4cyl only model while other compacts like this Rav4, Liberty, Escape, Vue, etc.... offer v6's. Liberty's v6 is kinda weak (210hp), but it still beats the 4cyl Crv, and the escape will soon be getting the upcoming 250hp 3.5L v6 that will be replacing the 3.0 duratec currently in use. For now, it uses a 200hp 3.0 duratec which still beats the Crv's 4. The thing is, all these companies offer 4cyl standard, but have made it a point to offer v6 power as an option. The Crv would be sweet with either the accord 240hp 3.0, or the Pilots 255hp 3.5 (which is also used by the Saturn Vue redline).
This thing is freaken fast though :eek. 6.3 0-60 times, high 14sec 1/4 miles with 94mph traps..damn. Respect to toyota. They're finally showing a pulse with vehicles like this and the new lexus's.
The hell, the numbers sound more like a car than a SUV. The 5-60 time is a bit slower than the 0-60 time, is this thing AWD? This thing must have at least 200 HP, which is awesome.

The CR-V is old and still selling well... I kind of doubt the new one will have a V6 sadly.
Impressive acceleration, my car is gonna have a challenge from a RAV4, now that's upsetting haha. 27mpg highway is impressive too, although not as impressive when C&D gets only 16mpg out of it...
P.S. what was the price on the model they tested?
