Unfortunately for Radford, today’s MINI owner can catalog-shop for most of the same upgrades, ready for installation at home or at the local tuner shop for a fraction of the price. I suspect the market for coachbuilt Minis is over - just like the ‘60s.

Wow. A coachbuilt mini...i dunno. You think coachbuilt and you think 6 figure luxury cars, not cheap cars like mini's. The autoblog guys hit this on the head. People that buy mini's aren't going to spend tens of thousands of dollars to have it customaized by a coachbuilder. Instead, they'll hook it up through the aftermarket which is a much cheaper alternative.
