Is it ppossible and would it retain 4WD? I think it'd be sick to have a CRV w/ H22 and 4wd. I'm assuming custom mounts would be needed as i've never heard of such mounts. Or maybe it'd be possible to use exsiting mounts and modify them:
Anyway anyone know? I'm not looking for that sure anything is possible with money answer either Is it really possible on a budget?

The engine swap is probably possible with a little bit of work, but you wouldn't be able to retain the AWD. Same goes for the old AWD Civic station wagons - you can drop a B18C in there and haul some ass, but you have to give up the AWD.
Since the CRV does have the B20 engine, you can always drop a VTEC head on there and have a CR-VTEC setup while keeping the AWD. And with the Civic SW, since it uses the D16A6 engine (same as 4th-gen Civic Si and EX), you can get superchargers, exhausts and other performance options, or even bolt up a ZC engine block - all while keeping the AWD. Unfortunately, you'd have to put up with the shitty low-geared 6-speed transmissions they came with.
Mods: Neuspeed coilovers, zex n2o, NX purge kit, GSR strut bar, 17" fittipaldi's, Wings West R.S. airdam, shaved emblems, New paintjob (all mouldings colormatched), clear corners, half red taillights, Tenzo fglights, superwhites all around.
Why not port & polish the head and get a nasty turbo setup or sc, then you would be able to keep the awd and gain substancial power. You could allways buy an ls head(cheap) get a port & polish, cams, valves, springs and you wouldn't have to worry about wiring or reliability problems of the vtec head and you could do this as it was affordable, Then slap on your turbo and you've got a very fast crv that had very little down time and did't max out your credit cards.

as mentioned before, you can put the engine into the CRV but because the B series transmissions bolt pattern and input spline is different than that of the H series, you would have to use a H series transmission. You can use the Hasport, or other, mounting kit for puting a H series motor into a Civic or Integra.
No to hi-jack but we've got several subjects going on here now. My wife has an 01' CR-V with her biggest complaint being power, otherwise it's a reliable well riding mom-box. Assuming I'm capable of doing a head swap is that the most cost effective way to gain some horsepower, and will it add anything to the bottom end, or only up top where the vtec operates?
Mods: B16 swap, GS-R tranny, type r cams, type R clutch, XTD flywheel and clutchplate, dc header, black SI rims, DC Sports front upper strut bar, dropped on some Tenzo's, Tenzo intake, Skunk 2 intake manifold, twin loop exhaust, brand new dover white pearl satin paint!

crv's rock, do a search "ls vtec" or "frankenstein", you will get a lot more info in other forums like civic crx and integra forums. but since the crv is a b series engine the process is the same. Yes all the power gain would be from 5,000 rpm +
soto, why are you hanging out in a CRV forum if your gonna dog people wanting to hook up their crv?

you could possibly use aftermarket dc2 h22a mounts considering a crv b20 direct swaps to a dc2 chassis. i am not to sure if you would want to retain your tranny tho maybe a h2b plate would put the power to da pavement??? crv's come in 2wd trim as well.
