02 tl volume control on steering wheel dead

out of the blue the steering wheel mounted volume control is dead, cant change channels/adjust volume at all. And on top of that, the freaking cruise controls buttons are gone as well. what the hell? fuses are fine, what else can be the problem, anyone please chime in if you have opinion/knowledge on this.

Ide double check fuses, and make sure everything is plugged in right.

i've checked the fuses, and they seem fine, what so weird is that from time to time the cruise would engaged, and then on the same trip if i want to engage it again, it wouldnt. in and out kinda thing. same thing with the volume control. any relationship between these two parts, since they're both mounted on the steering wheel?

Maybe the wiring isnt completely connected? Or the fuses aren't snuggly in place, other than that I don't know, both are just guesses.
