I need some opinions from u guys out there with 04/05 6mt with the brembos. As we all know.....brake dust is a major problem in the front. I hate it!!!! If i clean my car today and drive it around i gotta clean the wheels the next day! Is there a different brake pad setup we can use to prevent this without losing performance??
Thanx in advance guys.

I have the same problem but not as much as other drivers, I downshift more than I brake but the brake dust is still present....not enough to bother me thou ( and I'm anal about having a clean car, I detail cars on weekends and the other cars I see that have similar issues are BMW's)

OMG every BMW i see on the road have gun metal front wheels! It doesnt seem to bother their owners either. That shit is annoying tho.....and i do downshift a lot but i wish it was like the rear brakes where there is hardly ever any brake dust!

Look on the bright side, it draws people to take a closer look at the wheels in front which leads to ..WOW look at those big ass brakes....!!!, make lemonade out of lemons my friend....
Yeah, the brake dust is bad, the pads are soft. Forget the dust though, how many times have you curbed your wheels?? There's absolutely no protection for them, they actually stick out further then the sidewalls on the tires!!
bmw's look so bad because german companies tend to use more carbon in their pads. my bmw builds up dust really bad. my cls usually can go a week before the dust being noticable.

I feel your pain, man.
I've got Hawk HP+ pads on the Z06.... and I can't drive around the damn block without cleaning my wheels. I would LOVE to find a set that would have similar stopping power, but a little less noise and significantly less dust. Probably asking a bit much, though.

ceramic pads. i don't know how well they perform though. i haven't read up on them, but porsche uses them.

however since they require a bit of warming up to become fully effective/grippy... i noticed that when its really cold outside, the stopping distances increase quite a bit.... im talking anywhere less than -5C and i gotta adjust my braking habits...
wont really be in issue if you live in warmer climates though...

ceramic brakes do supposedly reduce brake dust. i dont have them on my tl's. but on our sienna xle minivan, when we got new brakes, we had the shop install ceramic pads, and they have reduced brake dust.
on a manual trans tl, you really really want to use the factory pads. yeah they make dust and squeak sometimes, but you wont be happy with aftermarket pads. itl only make things worse

It really depends on the pad. I get very little dust on my civic with carbotech bobcats ( www.carbotecheng.com ). I plan to go the carbotech route when its time on the TL as well.
