96 2.5tl, alternator or? also shift lock release slot

Hello i've had my 96 Acura 2.5 TL for 7 months. It now has 121k on it and everything has been performing pretty good. I don't know what's going on now....a week ago i had my normal headlights taken out and i put in 2 cool blue headlights. i let a side mechanic outside of an auto parts store put the lights in. 4 days later a friend told me 1 of headlights was out and i was like NO WAY I JUST BOUGHT THEM. well i tapped the front of my headlight a couple times and the light came back on! well the next morning i woke up and my car wouldn't crank. the lights would come on but they were very dim, the radio wouldn't come on, the air would dimly show on but nothing was blowing out. I called road assistance and with the charger on it for 10 seconds the car cranked right up. i took the battery to the auto store and they said it was bad, i said u sure it's not the alternator since i just bought the battery brand new 3 months ago, he said your battery is bad. so they gave me a new battery. i was all happy, well i just took a shower put on my good cologne and everything for a first date and my freakn car wont crank.....same thing, the lights come on but are very dim. the windows let down slow. In the morning i'll get it jumped and take it to the shop, does this sound like alternator problems or maybe something is draining my battery??? all lights were off, now sometimes the redlight will come on saying my backdoor is open when it's shut, i have to shut it real hard for the redlight (door open indicator) to off, but the light hasn't been on in a few days so all doors were closed.

other problems i've noticed in the past 4 or 5 days....i'll crank the car up and when i try to take the car out of park the shift thingy wont move. At first i'd keep shutting the car on and off and basically forcing the shift out of Park. Then something told me to put my extra key in the Shift Lock Release Slot. soon as i put the key in the shift release slot the shift regularly moves out of park. reading the manual this could mean a problem? what kind of problem? hope nothing serious. after searching this site i'm seeing alot of references to this problem and brake problems, my brakes work but i just had some brakes put on about a week ago, but this problem just started about 3 or 4 days ago. i see some sticky food stuck down there but if it was sticky food i don't think the shift lock release would work?

also how much does getting an alternator including labor usually run on the 96 2.5tl? i know prices vary with shops but a general price range..from - to-.

just left auto store, they checked alternator and battery both are good! now i don't know what's killing my battery. i'd hate to wake up in the morning for work and my car not crank. i asked the guy if my new blue headlights might be the problem he said no, he said it could be a starter switch or something coil? well i hope it's nothing serious.

You know you should go to www.acurazine.com and post on the TL sections because im a member there and there are a bunch of people that can help you out. Anyways, I have a 96TL 3.2 and my battery dies if I don't drive it for a day or so. I have a new alternator and new battery and what not and my car still dies. Many people believe that it is the automatic lock doors that are causing your battery to be drain. Check that out, because they say after you lock your doors it will try to lock itself again. They claim the problem could be fix if you remove some metal piece or something behind the door, which I have no idea how to open the side door in the first place.

Anywho, I about your now being able to shift, it is due to a safe lock that they put in the TL. All you have to do is press hard on the brakes rapidly and then hold your foot down on it and you should be able to shift like normal..

Like I said, you should go to http://tl.acurazine.com/ and get more help there.
