Acura 3.2TL 98 EGR valve need helppppppppppppppp

I got an Acura 3.2TL 98. the code is P0401 EGR valve. I bought a new EGR valve and replace it, but the engine line still on. any body know what's wrong with it, and how to fix it.

The CEL will not automatically immediately disappear. It needs to be reset, either with an OBD-II scanner or by putting the car through several drive cycles.

just did one on a 2000 TL, the egr port was gummed up
