3.2CL vs. Legend
Girl friend's family just picked up a 3.2CL Type-S, automatic. Haha, she wants to use it to pick on my '93 Legend L 5-spd now, and I've looked up the specs. She's got +60hp on me, as well as +20lb/ft of torque. Weight is practically the same.
I've already outrun her on the freeway, but she wants to out-drag me now. Don't wanna embarrass myself, so what're my chances? In my opinion, she might outpower me but I've got the advantage of a true manual trans. Opinions?
there is no question the cl-s will smoke u in every gear unless ur modded decently. UNLESS the vtec isnt working. this is a common prob with alot of cl-s. the car runs 14s all day easy. the only legend that can do that stock is the 270hp gsr. tell her to turn off tcs and just mash the gas pedal.

Well I did it. It was one of those races where no car stays in first the whole way through.
I launched hard, hitting the light perfectly. Very little wheelspin, clutch slipped into position easily. I got about a full car length ahead of her... took the revs to 5000rpm in 1st gear, and the CL fell back a couple feet as it shifted first-to-second. I took 2nd gear to about 5500rpm, but she caught up with me in 2nd gear. I was just behind her door line when I hit third, but I *almost* had it floored. She was still coming up, but we were running out of straightaway. *according to odometer, it was not quite a quarter mile*
She told me right after what she had done: just left it in D5 and stood on the gas. TCS was left on 'cuz she didn't know there was a button to turn it off.
My car is flat stock, unless you count the dingy twin-tip exhaust that the previous owner had on the car. I think my simple advantage was that I launched well. If we had more room, I think she could've passed me right in the end. =/
Thank God... I'd hate to have lost to her *hahaha* Now she wants me to teach her how to drive stick...
Well the 1993 Legend Coupe LS 6 spd does 0-60 in 7.3 seconds and covers the 1/4mi in 15.7 seconds. But with TCS off it does 0-60 in 6.3 according to Motor Trend and I'd guess about another .7 off that 1/4mi time at least if not the same off from the 0-60. So anywhere from 14.7-15.0 w/o TCS on in the Legend Type II 6 spd.

a win is a win and u deserve bragging rights, but something is wrong. the 2001 cl-s STOCK runs 14s all day easy, i bet her vtec isn't engauging. almost a third of the members at acura cl . com had to bring their cl-s into the dealer because of this. they were runnin high 15s! even a couple low 16s! when they had run 14s in the past.
D5 is another prob. if you werent racing past 100 d3 would have been better. if her car actually shifted into 4th and 5th that killed her accel.
and why did you *almost* have it floored? what happened to the race part

*almost* had it floored because we were running out of room and i was beginning to slow down already.
and nah, i won't brag about it. she's still my girl after all and i have respect for a girl that can take my car and smoke my best friend's integra in it.
ooh i see how it is. but seriously her car should be running 14s no prob. i would look into it. take them to the track next time. too much bad shit happens on the street.

270hp gsr, WTF are you talking about? : 2nd gen. Legends were all 200hp except for the '93+ coupe (might have only been the LS) and GS sedan, which had 230hp. There was never a GS-R and there was never 270hp. The RL 10 years later has 225hp....
