Bad transmission

I have a 2003 Acura 3.2 CL Type S.
Transmission grinds gears between 1st and 2nd when cold, but is fine when warm or hot. Rest of the gears or OK. Acura tech suport trying to convience me it is "normale".
Hard for me to believe, any ideas?

hmmm....what part of the country do you live in?
if you live in the very cold parts it could be that you might need some better fluids for the gears.

check to make sure that your Clutch Master Cylinder isnt leaking Fluid. the 2002 has the TSB bulletine about it.

how many miles on your car?

Bad Transmission Reply

I live in KC Mo. When I say cold, I mean it grineds for the first 4-5 shifts at say 40 deg F. and for 8- 10 (and audibly) at 15 deg F.
Mileage is just 14K but it's been this way since day one, last April when I perchased it. But with spring/summer it was only a slight nuscence and I and the dealer agread to waite and see.

Keep in mined that when I say grinds it's like the syncronizer rings are scratching. At least we used to call them syncronizers, don't know anymore.

you can try bringing it in to another dealer.
and if you are still unstatisfied then call up acura your self.
i know that a batch of the RSX-s have bad syncros etc. with grinds and stuff.
i wouldnt be surprised if you have the same problems.
