What was the first sign of your CL tranny going south?

Mine makes a weird shift every once in a while. I just spoke with my local Acura dealer and he said 2nd gear wouldnt shift weird, it would just sieze up.

I think I am reading too much on the transmission shit and getting paranoid...

me too habla. if it goes, then it goes. i gave up worrying about it. mine makes odd shifts every once in a while and seems like it disengages somtimes but if it blows then i get a new one. and maybe see what i can do about getting the parts replaced that cause the problem.

I just had the same problem. I just replaced mine myself. Cheaper & if it's gonna go, might as well do it now. My throw out baring was sqeaking like a mofo. That was a sign for me to take a look at it. If you stay with the stock clutch it should run u about $108.

I noticed a bnch of oil looking spots in my usual parking spot today. I checked the transmission fluid and its pretty much empty. My buddy got underneath and found transmission fluid covering everything. Any ideas guys? I just bought this thing...wtf?

oh that isn't good. i put mine on my lift about once a week. bottom side is as clean as topside. how many miles? take it to the dealership asap. if under 100k miles they will take care of it. aslo see if the recall has been taken care of. acurazine.com

57k miles. The guy I bought it from said the transmission was changed, but he couldnt tell the difference before and after. It's going to the shop tomorrow morning.
Will it be covered by the transmission warranty?

Well thats a relief. The dealer said there were three tension bolts on the transmission that wer 1/8 loose. He tightened them, clean the undercarriage, topped it off with fluid and gave the car a wash.

Oh yeah, they didnt charge me a dime.

phew....
