Square Enix and Disney Interactive Studios jointly announced today that the previously Japan-only Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories will be localized for the North American market and released on December 2, finally bridging the gap between Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts II.
The game itself is a 3D remake for PS2 of the original 2004 release on the GBA. Square Enix said that the same voice cast from the previous Kingdom Hearts games – including David Gallagher and Haley Joel Osment – will return for this release. Players will be able to control Riku in addition to Sora, and the game also has a renewed mini-game catalog with four brand new experiences.
Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories will retail for $29.99. To date, the franchise has sold a whopping 12 million units worldwide.
