looks like flashback mixed w/ far cry.
i dont know about amazing. it looks on par w/ most other next gen games. i think it's the forest. all games somehow look better in the forest. maybe thats why most crysis footage thus far has been there

Joking? Crysis looks better, but there isn't shit playing on 360 right now (which is the only other system I consider "next gen") that features foliage like this. Not in this number, with this amount of lighting and self shadowing, and such a good character model. The textures are great, there is a high dynamic range of lighting, wonderful shading, and TONS of foliage that is not just a huge polygon slapped up with a ton of textures.

isnt shit playing? im not sure i catch your drift, what does that mean exactly? are you saying there arent any games that take place in forests?
its funny how you take everything as an insult to the PS3 and have to reactionally revert to flame mode and start ranting about the 360. like how you somehow turned a wii thread
into a PS3 vs. 360 flamefest. eventually saying that GoW's visuals didnt impress you. yet a few screenshots of a game no1's ever played has you "Abso-fucking-lutely" amazed.
it looks good, as do many other games of this gen; forests add a ooo ahhh factor because of how nice hdr looks in them.
take lost planet for ex. w/ the exception of artistic style and setting, its not that far off.

Foliage.
Trees.
Plants.
Leaves.
Roots.
Not snow, not one character model running through a barren waste land smothered in motion blur, with (admittedly) amazing snow effects.
Moving, interactive, good looking foliage. If you don't think it "looks impressive" then that's cool, I'm not really worried about it. Personally, having seen there's pretty much no difference between these "in game" shots, and the trailer from 2K6...I'm leaning toward very impressive, especially on the lighting side of things.

don't meant o be a dick but graphics ain't shit. the game can look really pretty but play like shit. i really don't care how good a game looks if its not any fun to play. people put too much emphasis on looks and not enough on fun any more. what the hell is the point of that?

Technically nice, stylistically boring.
Jak & Daxter 1 was the last Naughty Dog game I liked.

To each their own, given that I haven't seen any good Jungle 3rd party action titles that have this sort of character and personality. Granted, all you've seen is a few screens, so I wouldn't expect you to be excited anyway. Hell, I really don't expect anyone on SHO to get excited about anything that has to do with Sony, given the hate level here.
The article in GI gives it a lot of depth, and really brings it to life more so than screens that reveal nothing about the Story. Seems very familiar to Indiana Jones, and GI seemed to think it was very fun and interesting.
Then again, I liked all 3 Jak titles.

All of them are game shots. Every last one.
There is a big difference between the Uncharted gameplay and Cut scene renders. Here's a render for example:
It looks absolutely amazing. I just enjoy laughing at those who talked about the "memory issues" the PS3 had, and how underpowered it was compared to the 360. The gap will only get bigger.
