Probably just because there aren't many PS Servers near the Guam aera. Sorry man, that sucks. Do they usually take long to download?
I just got home hoping it would be done, turned the TV on to my HDMI port to find my PS3 locked up. Now I’m re-downloading the update and it’s at 1% yafuckinghoo for me.......

This.
It's the opposite for me, in my area. Downloading from PSN is extremely quick, I can generally download a demo between 1 and 2 GB in roughly 30 minutes, and on XBL, it generally takes about an hour to complete a download of the same size.
It really just matters how far the servers are from your area. For instance, if Guam doesn't have any servers, then the next closest, IIRC, would be California. No matter how fast the Guam internet speed is, it can still take a long time to get data from the Sony servers in Cali, which are probably flooded traffic due to California being a high population area.

I’m more then sure Sony does not have a server on Guam, but I’m sure they have some in the Philippines, Thailand, Japan, Korea and such.
