Valkyria Chronicles Announced for PS3

Valkyria Chronicles Announced for PS3
The plot sounds very complex, focusing on a conflict between two powers in an ersatz pre-World War II environment where an ancient race has been uncovered for use by the "bad guys."

Sega today announced that Valkyria Chronicles is under development. The new tactical RPG will feature real-time action sequences in a conflict between an Empire and Federation in an alternate Europe "reminiscent of 1930s." Valkyria Chronicles will be built on the "CANVAS" engine, which will give the game 3D graphics that "resemble a watercolor painting in motion."

"Valkyria Chronicles' 'CANVAS' engine allows gamers to enter a world that at one time could only be created with paints and watercolors," said Elliott Chin, Director of Marketing for Sega of America. "With its stunningly unique visual style and the new 'BLiTZ' tactical battle system, Valkyria Chronicles is sure to entice gamers to enter its special world and join Welkin and Alicia in their cause to save Gallia."

Valkyria Chronicles will release exclusively on PS3 in Fall 2008.
