High Voltage Announces Quantum3 Engine for Wii

High Voltage Announces Quantum3 Engine for Wii
Unsatisfied with other developers' use of the Wii hardware, High Voltage Software has announced their latest middleware will push the boundaries of what people expect from Wii titles.
Posted by David Radd on Monday, April 21, 2008

High Voltage Software announced today its intentions to create Wii titles that look as good as those on Xbox 360 and PS3. The company's proprietary engine called Quantum3 promises better graphics and an easier development cycle overall. The middleware also has better dynamic bump mapping, light effects and glossing along with other improvements.

"We think it's a real shame that publishers and developers aren't taking advantage of the technical possibilities of the Wii platform," said Kerry Ganofsky, company CEO to IGN. "Most Wii games don't even look as good as the later day PS2 titles and that's a real slap in the face to consumers. We believe that third-party developers need to step up to the plate and deliver. The Wii platform is capable of a lot more than what consumers have seen so far. We're hoping to raise a new bar."
