Iwata: 'No intention' of M&A
Iwata: 'No intention' of M&A
Nintendo isn't looking to make merger and acquisitions, but is keeping an eye for new technology.

In a lengthy interview, Nintendo President Satoru Iwata reveals that despite Nintendo swimming in an ocean of money, they have no intention of buying up developers and publishers to add to Nintendo's current gaming dominance.
"Sometimes, some people say that Nintendo's position will become even more solid if it purchased software companies by M&A, but I have no such intention because buying such companies will not contribute to strengthening Nintendo in the true sense."
"I believe that it is not the company but the skills of the employees that matters most, and therefore regard M&A as meaningless."
While Iwata scoffed at the idea of adding a second wing to the Nintendo development mansion, he did say Nintendo is looking closely at newer technologies.
"Of course, there are technologies and rights that we are paying special attention to, but we cannot disclose them."
