No, that isn't a typo; the Nintendo channel is the latest feature for the Wii, giving users access to news, previews and demos of Wii and DS titles.

Nintendo of America today launched the latest channel for the Wii. Called the Nintendo Channel, this channel features information on Wii and DS titles, including news and previews. The channel can be downloaded now for free to Wii consoles in North America.
The Nintendo Channel features a catalog of Wii and DS titles, including links to online retailers to purchase games. Users can also provide feedback and rate various Wii and DS titles that they've played at least an hour of. The Nintendo Channel also provides DS demos, including tiles like Brain Age 2, Cooking Mama 2 and Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword.
