Got an ipod 30gb video with black evo3 iskin. Have it hooked to my alpine via a pie electronics ai-net cable. That connects direct to my ipod port and even charges it, FTW.
Next on my list is to get a clarion max675d (i think thats the model). It connects direct to the ipod , has full control and can even play the videos on your screen. The clarion is a dvd player multimedia double din and its like 500+. Not bad price. You can also add in navigation. But Im really not in my car that much so im kinda holding off , but it would be cool. Right now though funds arent happy with me..lol.

I bought an Ipod simply because of all the accessories and support it has. The Zune is pretty much a no name in the portable industry, and all of the cool stuff it *can* do is instantly negated by the things it *cant* do (and the fact that the sharing is an absolute joke).
I think for someone looking for something established, the iPod would be a way to go, I dig it. HOok it right up to my stereo, my car, and my computer (even my PS3) without a hitch, plus all of those other items charge my iPod while I use it.

Yup as much as I wanted a zune just from its looks. I thought it was as good as the ipod , just larger screen and more formats it can run...like wmv etc etc.
But it seems its a joke. Doesnt run well with certain rips and even does some sort of check if its a legal tune....gay.
As well the options for ipod are just immense. Who would want to miss out on that. I know I had an option for hard wire and charging in my car direct so I went for it and its perfect. No gay fm transmitters for me. Just crystal clear straight to my alpine head unit.
Theres also a lot of stuff to manipulate the ipod...havent gotten into that yet. But its good.
The only thing that I think the zune would have a one up on is for video. I believe its as simple as using windows movie maker and your golden. For everything on the ipod ive used is lacking or they all get this audio delay problem. You start the movie fine , but by the end your video is out of synch by a good amount with the audio.
The amount of programs available for the ipod to convert video is dizzying and even using all ripped versions. I still havent found a program worth investing in and ive used a large amount. Ill try to come up with the list of programs. I believe ive found 1 or 2. But the problem with the one that has perfectly synched audio is it crashes on certain types of video. While the other can convert everything it just ends up either not looking so hot or wont synch....
Pretty gay.

you guys are kinda wrong bout the zune.... i have no problem converting and playing Xvid, etc, not once has it done a "legality check" it just does its thing, sure sharing is a joke i agree, but im hoping in future software versions the wifi will be for other than just sharing, theres already all kinds of accesories available ive seen just about anything for zune that ive seen for an ipod, i dont know if they can but can ipods play video files to a TV? seriously i have no idea, not trying to be a smartass, about the only complaint i have is that unless you disable it, everytime you plug the little bastard into the computer it auto sync's even if you dont want it to.......disabled that quickly............... i guess its just to each his own
oh and my zune and 360 play nicely together

mike sho i dont mean to rain on your parade but ANY deck with ANY AUX inputs will play ANYthing you plug in there its just a matter of finding means to plug what you have into the AUX port, controlling it from your deck is diffrent for sure but hardwiring an ipod into your car isnt anything special, i dont meanto jump down anyones throat here but no need to hate on one product or the other thats not what i made the thread for i like ipods, i like ANY media player i happen to own a zune and i like it
