Well i just got a rebuilt d16y7 vetec engine and transmission but there are problems with it the engine is burning way to much oil i would say i have to put a quart of oil sometimes two in it everyday, white smoke is coming out of the exhaust when u rev between 3,4,5,and etc i was told its because the engine parts are new and have to break it in but it has been already 2 weeks and still doing it.

what could be the problem yall think i mean im taken it back but i need to know whats wrong with it so i wont get any b's story why

That much oil is very abnormal man, not cool. Really should check that out. Are all seals in good? Piston rings seated? white smoke will come out a little bit when engine is first started, but should not be continual

VTEC is hungry for oil, OM NOM NOM

Are you SURE the motor was re-built, or is some R-tard just saying it is? Cause that sounds like a standard tired, Honda motors thats been ragged on its whole life syndrom

could be that when the motor was rebuilt they did new rings and didn't touch the head. might wanna do a compression check and if you need pull the head and have the valve guide steam seals checked. If they come back good you may need to have to replace the rings

A) d16y7 = NO vtec
B) rebuilt burns oil the first few minutes, buta few miles of driving should clear it right up. it is only until teh rings seat fully, and they do it fairly quick

C) if its freshly rebuilt, and it still burns oil, bitch slap teh person who built the motor, because they obviously did it carelessly. and if you rebuilt it yourself, you were extremely careless, because following a manual and knowing a few tricks, you would not be on here about the oil

osrry to be harsh
