I would like a saltwater tank. Being near the ocean i know what's swimmin out there. good stuff. Plus lots of fish stores around here too.

just an update on the 29 gal.







This thing has come a long way. Future mods include 65 watt compact flourescent light strip, some type of CO2 injection, more plants.

i really like your 29, i need to set up a freshwater planted tank for in the tv/computer room, i just have the 75 saltwater reef and another 20 saltwater reef

wow, nice saltwater tank. :clap Is all of that live rock in there? Must of cost a bit to get that much for such a large tank. I've was thinking about doing a nano reef setup with a 5 gallon hex tank but in was $60-$70 for some live rock to put in it. Think i'm just going to stick with freshwater for now. Good luck with future tank(s).

Just an update to anyone interested.

6 gal tank...




NEW 10 gal tank i just setup 2 weeks ago...



I'm raising some baby fish in this tank for now. Couple of gold dust molly's and one black molly. Here's my black molly in her favorite spot...



This tank been modded quite a bit. I ripped out the old integrated flourescent light for a 36 watt Power compact light retrofitted in the hood with miro 4 reflector. I added a co2 canister with ladder diffuser for the plants and i made my own filter cartrige out of the old one that won't need to be replaced for at least a year (just rinsed off).

pics of light after install... looks like a pretty clean install.



Aluminum box i modded to mount the electronic balast for the new light.

was actually going to mount two of these lights into the hood ( with a larger splash sheild, but i guess one is enough.


The 29 gal tank got the 65 watt Power compact light as well as a new Eheim 2215 canister filter hidden in the stand. 664gph flow rate all filters compined, with 170 gph of that being channeled through undergravel jets.

LOL, there goes most of the money for my car. But hopefully i'll get a juicey tax return so i can swap a new suspension setup in my car. (tired of the eibach pro's)

before i moved...

i had a 125 gallon with a fahaka puffer
55 gallon with 2 dwarf snakehead
a 29 gallon with convicts, and a 25 gallon with guppies, for feeders.

got a empty 55 gallon, been trying to find some dwarf snakehead for a while now, so hard to find.

dwarf snakehead aka channa gachua isnt a puffer. it's actually a very aggressive catfish (i think). they are pretty small, only grows to about 9-10 inches, so they will fit in a small tank. mean as hell, will snap at anything and everything that moves. even your fingers when you try to feed it.

too bad that they are now illegal in every state and hard as hell to find.

255 Gallon salt water fish tank....flushed into the downstair's walk-in closet...my brother and I set this one up...this thing is expensive as hell to maintain...the UV light at the top costs us a grand
