if you say so....but from my experince with them they seem to attack anything that is moving and is smaller then them.. i use to fight these fish and i feed them live minnow all the time, its pretty cool watching them tear up minnow...

:eek Guess you might have taught them to kill for food. The ones i have a pretty laid back. The tetras in the 29 gal are the ones that sometimes pic on the betta when its feeding time (try to nip fins). He will only slightly chase them when he gets annoyed by a tetra or two.

Its a bit more work to start one up. Nice saltwater fish are much more expensive to buy and maintain. And i wouldn't try saltwater with a tank smaller then 30 gal unless you know what your doing (real experience).

salt water is at least (imo anyways) 10x harder to maintain and empties out your pockets alot more too

i'm working on getting 2 more cories but no one is carrying this exact species locally. I was going to get a similar looking cory but read that different types won't mix/interact/school.

I've always wanted a fish tank! I got some questions for you tankers out there! What would be a good way to get a good fresh water tank set up is there some pointers you can give me so that it can be easy to maintain but still look tasteful. I like the sand in the one tank is sand harder to maintain then gravel? Anywho I want to get a simple tank maybe something like 6-10 gallons. Also what is a good cleaning system to make my tank clean. Any pointers would be greatly apperciated.

ive got a 55gal tank not setup at the moment, used to have a few pirahana(sp) in there with a few pleco, gota get some money before i get some new fish though.

reminds me of this really nice setup at this one restaurant, Everglades. It was huge and colorful. It looked like those fishies from Finding Nemo, cept there was no Nemo. Only the other fishies

tips:

The bigger the tank the better.
Have a filter that filters the tank 8-10+ times and hour.
heater = 3watts per gallon
Water conditioner
2-3 inches of gravel or sand of your choice.
some type of cover with light
Basic water test kit (for ammonia, nitrite, ph)
Water syphon

just basics.
