visible ick will come and go, because the white spots are cysts. they burst, and go away for a time, and then they come back and there are more of them. But the only time you can treat the water is after they burst

so i shouldnt be adding medication yet? what i did to treat my oscar back den was add the medication with temp up and it went away.

im happy about the new baby convicts though!!

Plus take out the charcoal from the filter. It'll strain out the medication from the water as it circulates from filter back to the tank.

The betta I had in my 1.5gal. tank at work died... A friend gave me some endlers and I'm thinking about picking up some mini cory cats. Something different then another betta.

anyone ever have a fish go into shock?

looks like its dead,gills not even moving,just kinda laying on its side at the bottom of the tank,then find it swimming around a few hours later like nothing was wrong?

i moved yesterday,and ran into a few problems moving the pirhanas. thought one died,but luckly i couldnt find my net to fish him out.

just got back from petco and got my last fish. redtail shark.

anyway, im thinking of getting a 5 gallon eclipse hexagon kit. they are $29 right now, and maybe getting either a badass beta, or a small pea puffer.


BUT....they had on sale for $189.99 with the petco card, a 29gallon salt water starter kit. pretty much all the basics to start a salt water. if i had the money i woulda got it. it came with tank, lights, salt, conditioner, and all the other basic shit needed to start. i cant find it on their website to post it so it might be in store only or something.

gluck with salt water.. i cant stress it enough but ... information and knowledge is definitlely needed for a saltwater tank...and pea puffers are hard to take care of IMO

salt is not harder to maintain..it takes the same maintaince as a freshwater tank..its the getting started thats the bitch..its a little more expensive to start but not much..the real difference is the price of the fish.

and freshwater puffers are difficult to keep..they need brackish water and you cant put shit with them

sounds like a water quality issue to me..could have just been stress from the tank swap or you picked a bad fish to begin with...
