We have a 100 gallon tank here at work. Usually we claen the gravel & change the water (at least 50-60 gals) once a week to prevent algae growth, sediment build up, clear water, etc.
How often do you peeps change your water?

that's a nice fishtank SHiba....i had one like that, till one night...the power went out..and all the fish suffocated to death...
I had crammed 40 fishes into a 55 gallon tank, when the pumps stopped working....they all died

when u overcrowd an aquarium, u need to circulate the water with a pump ...plus it was cold and the heater wasn't working either so they all died

My brother did most of the trimming and cutting of the wall, I set up the water filtration system and fish tank...you don't see it but we routed the water pipes down the basement....so we actually have 500 gallons of water circulating into the tank...

I see, but if you overcrowd an aquarium the shear movement of all the fish causes water to circulate and therefore renew the air/water contact surface. I'm sure they probably die of shock due to the sudden change in conditions
not arguing with you or anything, stil sad to lose all your fish

hahaha nah man you need more circulation than that to keep the fishes breathing....the filters and the water flow controller were out, and the drop in temperature didn't help much either...in the after noon of the next day when i woke up, there were a few left gasping for air, but soon after that they died... took me 2 years to start raising fish again...it was a mass grave
